Soo I have complete the install it was simple! You just need to extend some of the harness and you can use the blank pins within the door plug there is 4 of them for each side. I was going to simply get the CIC version and not worry about the iDrive interface. I'm just like you i have the white and amber through the iDrive.

I plan to remove the door panels and make a small incision in the seam to run my wires and then run through the rubber wire boot and under the dash.I've been also eyeing this, the weird thing is on that listing and most others, they distinguish between NBT with a production date before and after September 2014. The door panels have a nice deep seam so with the tint you can stuff the el wire deep enough so that it almost completely disappears when not lit. I was able to cut a piece of cardboard with a razor to put the wire in to hold the wire straight and apply a much more even coat (3 actually) of tint for much better consistency. The installation process involves taking apart the interior panels and adding a new wiring harness to accommodate the additional LEDs. I don't think it will be significant enough for battery drain but I'll make more definitive plans once I do the door trim.
